AUDITION FOR LADIES’ DAY

Our spring 2020 production will be the comedy Ladies’ Day by Amanda Whittington and we will be holding auditions in November.

We’re pleased to say that we will be returning to the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby for the first time since 2008! The play will be staged from Thursday 23rd until Saturday 25th April 2020.

Ladies’ Day is set in a fish packing factory in Hull and York Races in June 2005 so the actors should speak with a Hull (or at least a Yorkshire) accent. Su Toogood will be directing.

Auditions will be held at the hall to the side of St Mary Le Wigford Church, St Mary’s Street, Lincoln LN5 7AR (next to the railway station) from 7.30pm on Tuesday 12th and Wednesday 13th November.

Cast requirements (with probable playing ages) are:

Pearl, mid-50s
Jan, mid-40s
Shelley, mid-20s
Linda, early to mid-20s

There are six male roles which can be played by one man or several. We may share the roles among two or more actors:

Joe, supervisor to the ladies, probably mid-20s to 30s
Fred, a ticket tout, any age
Jim McCormack, a TV pundit, probably 50s
Patrick, an Irish jockey, early 20s
Kevin, a gambler, probably 40 to 50
