Cast announced for Gaslight

Director Julia Ross has announced her cast for Gaslight, which will be on stage at the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby at the end of October.

The cast is as follows:

Jack Manningham – Stephen Gillard

Bella Manningham – Laura Turner

Elizabeth, the housekeeper – Vicky Ashberry

Nancy, the parlour maid – Flo Harrison

Sergeant Rough – Jez Ashberry

Many thanks to everyone who attended the audition; it was very heartening to see such a lot of interest, and overall the standard was very high!

Auditions for Gaslight

Our next production will be Gaslight by Patrick Hamilton at the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby in October.

An audition for this production will be held at 7:30pm on Tuesday 16th August at St Mary le Wigford Church Hall on
St Mary’s Street in Lincoln (LN5 7EQ) – next to the railway station.

Gaslight is a psychological thriller set in the late Victorian era. Characters are as follows:
 
Bella Manningham (F, mid 30s) 
Jack Manningham (M, mid 40s)
Sergeant Rough (M, 60s) 
Elizabeth, the housekeeper (F, 40s/50s)
Nancy, the parlour maid (F, 19)
 
Everyone is welcome to attend the audition whether you are a member of Common Ground Theatre Company or not. You might be vastly experienced or a complete novice!

Tickets on sale for Ladies’ Day

We’re back on stage in May – and you can now buy your tickets to see Ladies’ Day by Amanda Whittington at the Broadbent Theatre in Wickenby from 26th to 28th May 2022.

In this heart-warming comedy, life is one long, hard slog for the fish-filleting foursome Pearl, Jan, Shelley and Linda. But their fortunes are set to change when they head to Ladies’ Day at York Racecourse. Factory hairnets make way for fascinators as the four friends hit the races for an unforgettable day out.

Secrets are spilled with the champagne and friendships are tested to the limit. Yet as the day unfolds and tempers fray, their accumulator bet keeps quietly winning. If their luck and their nerve holds, the ladies could could hit the jackpot – and more.

20th anniversary celebration

Save the date: Saturday 27th November, St Swithin’s Community Centre, Croft Street, Lincoln.

Twenty years ago in November we performed our first production: Spring and Port Wine at Croft Street Community Centre.

This year we will be returning to Croft Street 20 years to the day after opening night! We plan to celebrate our 20th anniversary with cheese and wine, a quiz, entertainment and a raffle.

The aim is to have fun and celebrate our achievements, and also to raise some much needed funds for Common Ground.
